Lower Marsh Creek Cemetery Tour
A wonderful tour on Wednesday May 31 at 6:30 p.m.
- Linda Clark, the organist and music coordinator at Lower Marsh Creek Presbyterian Church and a popular author of Civil War stories and history, will be leading this walking tour of our famous cemetery.
- Our Lower Marsh Creek Presbyterian Church Cemetery is small in size but rich in history. With over 750 memorials, these people of the past represent a strong Scottish and Irish heritage, with about 100 names beginning with the letters "Mc".
- The graves featured will include religious leaders, missionaries, veterans of several wars, church members and others (Alexander Dobbin, Ephraim Wisler, Hugh Paxton Bigham and Tommy McCraw).
- Also discussed will be the locations of the residences where our members traveled from each Sunday. Our oldest "resident " was born in the 1600's!
